It is interesting that people who have been through the HWA/WCOG experience would come out thinking like this.

On one hand we have decades of research and sound scientific evidence to support anthropogenic climate change. We have unanimous agreement among the thousands of peer-reviewed scientific studies. In fact, this has probably been the most peer-reviewed scientific study in history.

On the other hand, we have a few fringe self-proclaimed teachers who want us to reject what the majority of experts say and accept their viewpoints even though their viewpoints don't stand up to peer-review. They appeal more to faith than the scientific evidence. They talk of conspiracy theories as to why their viewpoints aren't accepted.

This second group. the climate change deniers, seem more like a religion than the first group.

Yes, I meant the Northwest. I think the Northeast is a wee bit too cold for me. I would like to live where it snows a couple of times in the winter, but nothing major.

I'm here in NC, too. It's much better than the searing, humid hell of Louisiana, but the summers are still a bit too hot and the winters not cold enough for my tastes. I tell you what, the weather last week was wonderful, though. Chilly, dark, and rainy! Perfect!

Did you really mean the Northeast, Paul, or the Pacific Northwest? I like 'em both, but the Pacific Northwest has a more equable climate, and of course if you find overcast, rainy weather stimulating (as I do), you can't beat Seattle, Portland, anywhere from the Cascades west during the winter months!

Of course, since Tom lives in overcast, showery England, it must be proof that that climate is the preferred one of God! :-)

I see no need to address this topic, for I am sure that you have already decided whether HWA was or wasn't an apostle. However, when Paul's Apostleship was being questioned, he replied: "Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds." So use this template as the basis to judge whether HWA was or wasn't an apostle, and you will have your answer.

MY COMMENT - If you read Gavin's header to the Ambassador Watch website it reads "Reflections on the Worldwide Church of God experience". Wouldn't that include our experiences and observations of the fraud Herbert W. Armstrong? Tom, your God idol certainly made some mighty big claims during his lifetime - most of which never came to pass in the timeframe he predicted.

Tom, what would you expect to be posted at a website that bills itself, "Reflections on the Worldwide Church of God experience", or are you really that mentally challenged in the brain department?

As a biker, I am certainly not a prude. But, man! Some of the stuff being posted any more is just really juvenile. AW has always been known as a place to stimulate one's intellect. It still is, but the back and forth name calling and baiting is getting mighty tedious.

I post on other forums, where, I must confess, most members stick to the topic. Whereas here, every topic eventually defaults to Armstrongism and the alleged, terrible legacy it has bequeathed to its former adherents.

When rational argument challenges this opinion, it is attacked by insults and abuse, and the threat of censorship. As though insults and abuse are capable of constructing a logical and coherent argument in defence of anything.

Go back and read my posts, they all address the topics; either by replying to Gavin's opening remarks or other people's comments on the topic. Sometimes I agree with what some people say and sometimes I disagree, by challenging their often misguided opinions or bold assertions, without being able to provide any proof in support of their contentions.

However, you don't have to read or reply to my posts. But the truth will always triumph over speculation, conjecture, supposition or opinion, for it is invincible!

Prim and Proper, Toms opinion about Herbert is just that...with a large "hope" factor that the apostate apostle of past was right in all his gloom and doom prophecies. This comforts and qualifies Tom. But the facts have Herbert in the hell equation, that is if you can document the Herbal doctrine that hell is the place of final judgment.
