FAQ for Stupid Religious Questions
1.
Question: Isn't it your job to prove that the outrageous claims of religious
nuts are untrue, otherwise they must be true?
Answer: It is up to the person that makes outrageous claims to provide the proof. I could say that outer space is composed of Jell-O. Is it your duty to prove that it isn't? What a stupid argument.
2.
Question: Isn't fulfilled prophecy a proof that the Bible is god's word?
Answer: Ridiculous. If Christians had any irrefutable evidence
that these prophecies actually have come true or will come true, then the whole
world would believe them. The fact of the matter is that every so called
"prophecy" in the bible can be explained or refuted.
3.
Question: Isn't corroboration of events and people of the Bible by secular,
archeological and outside sources proof that the bible is god's word?
Answer: So, just because some of the things or persons in the bible actually happened or existed, that makes the book the "word of god?" My friend, you are very gullible. There are millions of other books in existence that can be corroborated by events and outside sources. I will have to assume that you, using this criteria, also believe they are also the "word of god."
I haven't said it is a "fake." I truly believe it is a BOOK. But just a book and no more than a book. The problem comes when you people, who have absolutely no proof at all that this book was "god inspired," will deify the book. You have to face this: you worship a book not a god. Its an old book. It has been worshipped by ignorant and mostly uneducated people for many ages. There are some good things in it. There are many bad things in it. There are some true things in it and some false things in it. What makes it holy? I'll tell you what: it is people like you who refuse to objectively examine what is in that book and use your brain to figure out whether a god that is worth worshipping stands behind it. The fictional god of the bible is an evil god. We should all be glad that it is a fiction.
Read the articles and links that I have on my Bibliolatry page.

Accusation: It doesn't matter that you spent 25 years of your adult life
studying the bible. You cant' understand the bible because you are not able to
rightly divide the word of truth and come to the correct conclusion
Answer: Your god makes it very hard for a person to find out
what "truth" is. You have to read this book that is very confusing and
contradictory with a lot of things in it that are just plain wrong. Get a little
truth from here, a little from there. Put it all together then divide it and
then come up with the right conclusion. I gather, since there are so many
different churches and beliefs, supposedly founded on your bible, that most of
them are wrong.
In fact, only one of them can be right. That really narrows down how many people
this god is willing to have in his "family." Doesn't sound like a very loving
"father" who would make finding and following him so hard to do. Is it up to the
"lost" children to find the hidden parent?
Sorry, but I am not interested in such a god. If he wants me to follow him, he
will have to come and get me. I need some proof before I will believe. I've got
this bad habit of using my brain, something Christians cannot be accused of, or
at least convicted.
5.
Statement: The bible is god's word because it has text that teaches a way
of life that, if practiced, does actually lead to blessings and prosperity
Answer: So, any book that will tell you how to prosper and live
a good life is the word of god? I submit to you that there are many, many of
these types of books but most of them do not have an evil god in them that goes
around killing people that will not follow him.
Regardless of that, go to my
Acts of God page.
Tell me that ALL of the people that were trying their best to follow your god
and your
god let them die agonizing, miserable deaths, were actually being blessed and
prospering. If this book cannot be relied upon to bring these blessings, if your
god cannot be relied upon to fulfill the promises in the book, what is the point
of following either one? A promise of a life after death that nobody can prove
will happen? That is about all you will get out of that book. Promises, promises
and no guaranteed fulfillment until you are dead; and no proof at all that even
that promise will be fulfilled.
6.
Statement: The Bible is the word of god.
Answer: Well, present your proof that it is the word of god. Do not quote the book. You cannot prove that a book has authority by quoting from the book. You need outside proof.
7.
Statement: I decided to do my own Bible study and not let any man teach me.
Answer: You are starting at the wrong place. First you have to prove that the bible is the word of god. You will not be able to do that. You will have to excuse a very evil god and excuse a book riddled with errors and confusion. Is this the kind of god that you really want to worship? Not me.
Once you have proven that the bible is not the word of god, you will also see that Jesus never existed and does not exist today. He is a myth.
Then you will understand that there is no god that cares about mankind. Any proof that there is would be welcomed. Don't give me anything other than physical proof.
8.
Statement: God can allows bad things that we can learn and grow with the pain.
Answer: That is just a copout. God refuses to intervene in our lives so we have to make up a story to excuse "Our Father" for his lack of fatherly love. We can't accept the fact that god does not care about us so we dream up excuses for him. Hey! I am just accepting the obvious. You talk about "learning and growing," what a bunch of bullshit. Tell me what some little baby is learning by being raped and killed by some pervert? How is the pain beneficial to the child? How is it "growing" when it is dead? How are people ,trapped 30 feet under a mudslide and slowly dying of suffocation, learning and growing? Is the insane terror good for them as they call out on their cell phone and beg for help that cannot come? If they learn anything before they finally die, it is that god will not be rescuing them. They can pray themselves blue in the face and the only hope they will ever have is for human intervention. Read my Acts of God page and see just a little bit of what you have to defend your uncaring god for. I don't have to do that. I accept the fact that we are on our own. I am free from fables, dreams and fairy tales. You are not.
9.
Statement: God only wants what is best for you.
Statement: Can you prove that? Show me that god wanted the best for the millions of people on my Acts of God page. Until you can do that, you are living in a religious-drug-induced dream world.
10.
Statement: Christ arose to sit on the throne. When we pray, we boldly approach
the throne. The sea of glass is the truth we stand on. There are no waves. It
never changes. It is a miracle like Jesus walking on the water. It is always
light there, because He is our light.... Blah... Blah...Blah............
Answer:
I don't want to be offensive but your blind faith in things that you have absolutely no proof at all of is offensive to me.
Just do one thing for me and for yourself: prove that your Jesus even existed. Do not use the bible unless you can prove first that it is error free and that it is the word of god. Don't quote Josephus to me because that is an obvious fake and all legitimate scholars admit it. Let me tell you before you waste too much time, there is no proof. You are basing your life on a book of fiction written and/or compiled by men who want to control your mind and your money.
This religion thing is really a sign of a serious mental defect. Religion is a drug that helps you cope with the absolutely provable fact that there is no god that cares one little shit about mankind. Until you wake up to that fact, you are living in a drug induced dream world.
YOU are not SAVED. There is no one to save you but yourself. Don't wait for god to save you; it won't happen. Enjoy your life because, according to all the evidence that can be proven, this is all you are going to get. Don't waste your life in a drug-induced stupor unless that is the best you can do.
11.
Statement: The scripture that you know so well states in Romans 1 that since the
foundation of the world God has made himself known to man, so that men, (that's
everybody including the ancient North American Indians and the Vikings, and the
Chinese, etc..), are without excuse.
Answer: Well, at last, someone who can prove to me that
there is a god that gives one little shit about mankind. Please do that for me.
Give me some proof. You know, things that are facts. Things that can be PROVEN.
If I am going to be without excuse, you have to prove this to me. Don't prove
that there is a god. I accept that, maybe. Prove that that god cares about us.
Do it in light of my Acts Of God page . Unless I
see a god that cares about me, I don't care about him. So here is your chance to
save a lost soul. I'm here, ready and willing to believe; I just need some
proof. Something for my brain so that it will accept this god. I figure this god
wants me to use the one thing that I can attribute to this god giving me. This
god would not want me to turn off my brain and just believe anything anyone
tells me is "truth," right? This god would want me to believe he exists and
cares about mankind because I have absolute proof and THEN I would be without
excuse. Otherwise, I have excuse. So take away my excuses Oh Man That Speaketh
For God.
12.
Statement: What's the difference between a Christian and a paranoid
schizophrenic?
Answer: One person hears voices, is
convinced his thoughts and actions are known to some outside power, thinks the
world was designed and created for him and that he is central to everything that
goes on, is sure he's part of a special divine mission, believes that ordinary
everyday events have some special transcendent meaning visible only to him,
sometimes speaks in incoherent babbling voices, and believes supernatural forces
are at work to influence his actions.
And the other one, of course, is a paranoid schizophrenic...
13.
Statement: I will pray for you.
Answer: Well, fine. But if you are going
to pray for me, pray for bad things to happen because there is a lot more chance
of your prayers not being answered than in them being answered. Then the result
will be that good things will happen to me. That, of course, is disregarding the
fact that absolutely nothing happens when you pray except that it makes you feel
better to think that you have turned matters over to god. In fact, bad things
will happen to you and good things will happen to you whether you pray or not.
Would you like to do a test for all to see the effectiveness of your prayers?
But, then again, you wouldn't want to tempt him or he might squash you like a
bug. But, wouldn't it be nice to have a god that you could actually depend on?
Oh well, we know that is not to be.
14.
Statement: I believe by faith.
Answer:
That means you have not been
able to prove what you believe. People who are willing to believe things without
any proof are very scary to me.
15.
Question: Why do you say that there is no god?
Answer:
I have not said that there
is no god. I say that there is no evidence of a god that cares about mankind. I
would be interested in any proof you have other than in the bible, which proves
nothing because it cannot stand on its own. Believers support the Bible because
the Bible supports their beliefs. Bible believers do not worship a god, they
worship a book. So, without using your book, prove to me that there is a god
that cares about mankind. I will give you a whole page of your own and a link to
your church's website. Just give me some proof. I won't be holding my breath.
16.
Question: Isn't the fact that there is "love' in the world, prove that there is
a god?
Answer: That does not imply that the
"love" is from any god that cares about us right now. If "love" was implanted in
us by a god by programming our brains so that we would tend to love those who
are close to us, that does not prove that that god is active in our lives. It
only proves that we have the inborn capability to love. There are many animals
that show "love" or devotion to each other. Just because I love my family does
not mean that there is a god that loves me. When my family is in trouble, I will
help them. In that way, I prove that I love them. I see no evidence of any god
doing that for anybody, anywhere.
17.
Question: Do we not see the work of a GREAT TEACHER who wants us to learn
something?
Answer: No. We see a beautiful creation
that is on its own. We see a world full of suffering and pain. No proof of any
godly intervention at all. The proof is just the opposite of what you want to
see. You look around at all the unanswered prayers and evil in this world and
try to justify an uninvolved god by saying that the reason must be that we are
supposed to be learning something from being deserted by the god we want to help
us. Some of us are learning that we have no use for a god that hides himself and
does not tell us plainly what he wants from us.
18.
Question: What is truth? Isn't the Bible, Truth?
Answer:
The
truth is that you cannot PROVE that the bible is god's word.
The truth is that you cannot PROVE that there is a god that is involved with
mankind.
The truth is that you cannot PROVE that there is any divine Truth from any god.
True
things can all be PROVEN to be true. They are not proven by faith. They are not
proven by wanting them to be true. They are not proven out of a very fallible
book. They are proven by facts. So the facts are that you do not know what
"TRUTH" is. The only truth that you can be sure of is that nobody has the REAL
truth because no god has revealed it in an undeniable way.
19.
Statement: I keep my eyes on God not man.
Answer:
If you think you are
following a god, you are wrong. You are following a godly figment of your
imagination that you have created in your own mind, or someone created there for
you. You are not following any god that will help you or do anything for you. I
know it gives you comfort to think that this god cares about you, but this
make-believe god of yours helps me just as much as It does you. I have the same
unexplainable mysterious coincidences happen to me as you do. I call them
coincidences, you call them godly interventions or answered prayers.
Here is
a little tip for you: put your bible down and go get some books to study ABOUT
the bible and then use a little logic to see where it takes you. Find out the
truth about this book and realize that you have been worshipping a book all
along and not a god. And the book is not worthy of your worship.
20.
Statement: In the end we will all know to a
certainty what the truth is or we will be nonexistent and it won't matter
anymore anyhow.
Answer:
Yes, but you will have
wasted your entire life as a slave and I will have been free. At least I can say
that, if there is a god, I don't think It is going to fault me for trying to use
my brain to find It. It is not going to say to me: "Sorry but you should have
blindly followed my one Minster, after you found the one that was the most
dynamic and convincing at preaching the bible to you."
You
said, there is only one Truth. If you believe this, you had better go through
all the religions in the world, all the denominations within those religions and
then all the different churches in those denominations, and then look for that
one minister that is preaching the Truth. They are all different; they vary on
their beliefs and teaching right on down to the last minister. Only one can have
this Truth. If you don't find the right one, then you are not following the
Truth. Is it your job to find this truth or be lost? Can you really stop looking
just because what someone has said seems to be logical? You can't stop looking
because, if you just look a little harder, you may find someone that will
convince you that they have the real truth. Or is it easier to just stop looking
and make believe that you have the real Truth already and save yourself a lot of
trouble?
Is it
really the duty of the lost child to find the parent? If god wanted us to
worship It, don't you think that It would have given us irrefutable proof of
what It wanted? Well, I think so. And, there is no irrefutable proof. There is
no proof that God does anything for us or that God wants anything from us.
