Our grad dinner with HWA in 1976 in Big Sandy was a shocker - HWA cried while recounting how he was in love with a wonderful woman (Ramona) and he needed to be with her so much but GTA wouldn't let him marry her. Then he charged us all "as God's Apostle" not to tell anyone what he'd said. Of course, this followed him totally trashing his first wife and complaining that she was frigid and that it was our duty to please our husbands. Thank goodness we had a lot to drink.

My relatives are "normal" people who know nothing about the WCG.I'm guessing that they would shake their heads in disbelief at the fact that I check this site every day. They would be saying things such as "So just who the hell is this Herb guy anyway"? I could say just ask Biker Bob or Dennis or Tom Mahon too Corky and Lussenheide. They would say "And just who the hell are they"?

LOL ya gotta love the ignorance of my relatives and inlaws, and in a way I'm jealous of their ignorance as well.

Oh well I have a few other sites that I'm involved with that have nothing to do with any of this. I do have an after Armstronginism life.

Yes, dinner with Herb would have been something that I would never forget, but my finest dinners were very simple ones with my grandma and granpa who are now deceased,but those dinners are some of my best memories of my youth.

Ah come on you guys! Lighten up on poor old Tom. He has always claimed Herbie spoke the truth, and in the video Tom is completely exonerated.

The video begins with Herbie's eloquent toast:
"Here is to the happiest time of my life,
Spent in the arms of another man's wife"

How much more truthful can you get? By the time of Herbie's statement, Dorothy was indeed another man's wife.

Please forgive us Tom. Herbie did tell the truth after all.

It's a lovely composition, of course, and I personally found the emotional impact of seeing HWA playing the piano at such an advanced age to be quite considerable. I well remember sitting in the auditorium at the Vingstedcentret, Bredsten, Denmark, watching that Festival film during the Feast. I must admit I did a double take when I saw the gold plates, and "humanly" I felt that the table setting as a whole was "over the top" for my personal tastes. The person sitting beside me whispered, "Only the best is good enough for God", and I think many Feastgoers that year would have agreed with that sentiment. Anybody else remember their reactions at the time?

The man was a user Tom. He loved his ego stroked and he loved to hear, "Yes Mr. Armstrong." Even if he KNEW something wasn't the best decision, or right thing to do.
